Purple Charlotte update

So here it is before I frogged it!

Yep, I frogged it. See there are little nubs of white cotton and deep purple silk.. lovely I know but it causes the stitches to stick together, while purling I was missing stitches or dropping them. Most were easily fixable until row 67 even though I had the right number of total stitches I was 2 stitches off on the left side. yuk! So this yarn is now destined for a garter stitch shawl- done in the same fashion as the Charlotte- yarn overs on the side and the middle. I have already cast on some lace weight yarn, size 5 needles for another Charlotte. This is handpainted yarn.. I am liking how it looks even after just 16 rows. I am a bit under the weather so I had to stop- ran out of steam..

Finished the first one and have already started a second. I have twice as much yarn for the second shawl so it will be good sized.

Slow progress

I have been slowly making progress with knitting my Charlotte Web Shawl.

I have been busy preparing for the fiber show I will be participating in next month. So much time for knitting anything for myself.

I realized that I must have everything completed and packed by May 13th, before I go have my next Remicade (IV chemo) treatment. So, this gives me little time left to make sure I have everything ready for this show. Since side affects seem to last for 1 1/2 weeks for me...... I realized that that would only give me 1 day.... the day before we leave for the GREAT LAKES FIBER SHOW in Wooster, Ohio.... the last weekend in May..... to finish preparing things. Yikes!!!!

So.... my poor Charlotte..... she has been put aside for now. I have however made some progress.... I am now on row 74 of my shawl and using the 3rd color. I love how this shawl is looking. I see one small mistake that I can live with.... that no one will even know the difference. Can I live with this..... hmmm..... I am still thinking about it. I atleast have a life line that I can rip back to and redo this portion.... again. Atleast the #'s of stitches all work out for where I am in the pattern.

Charlotte's Web Shawl progress

I am making some progress. I had to rip 4-5 rows out..... several times. I had put in a life line and finally realized that the mistake must be before the life line. So, I ripped a few more rows out and started knitting again. I "think" the mistake I made.... is fixed.

Looks much better now.

I am now on row 39.

I am adding a photo from before ripping out a few rows. I will share another photo once I have a few more rows completed.

My progress

I am now on row 53, in a few more rows I can add another color.

My Charlotte's Web Shawl

I have been delayed for a couple days with starting my shawl. Just have not felt well enough to begin.... until today.
So.... I would like to share a few photos of my yarns. I also want to share a photo of my little "helper" that helped me with winding yarn this morning.
I have started knitting my shawl and already found a silly mistake. So.... rip..... 13 rows were ripped out and started over. I am now about to start knitting row 17.
I LOVE this yarn..... KOIGU!!!! I can't believe I forgot that I had this yarn and my pattern to make this shawl. Bought this kit.... almost 4 years ago. Oh... I would love to have more KOIGU yarns for knitting other shawls or a pair of socks.
